Personal Statement: Through Yoga, I have learned to reawaken my inner wisdom and power and use my energy in a very focused way. Above all, it had helped me to reconnect to that sacred space within me. I believe that a lot of pain and darkness could have been avoided if I'd had Yoga when I was a teenager, and this is why I strongly promote Yoga for Teenagers. Essay
on Teen Yoga: This vigorous routine provides teenagers with an alternative way to redirect their spurts of energy; it helps students to get grounded in the body. The rigor of the practice offers them a healthy and challenging way to experiment, to push boundaries and come to one's edge, and a way for young people to gain a sense of achievement. The practice can be a wonderful and fun way of cultivating discipline for any teenager. As the practice continues, the students become aware of the intelligence of their own body, and of the power of focused, clear attention. During this process, the teens often develop a greater sense of self-confidence by discovering the inner resources within, which help them to deal with the dynamic experiences that they are going through in daily life. During these remaining years of childhood, teenagers live in this awkward space of being a non-child and an immature adult. We hope to provide them with a way to connect with themselves, and also with the beauty within and around them. -Namaste- by Katerina
