PACIFIC WARRIOR - Yoga Workshop
Saturday, September 27 3-6 pm at 8 Limbs Wedgwood

This workshop is dedicated to those who long to awaken their spiritual warrior within.

To be a warrior is not to be afraid of your inner potential. The true warrior seeks only to defend truth, peace and love. This is the yogic warrior's quest. Such a warrior can never be of harm to others and is opposed to war. The intention of this workshop is to cultivate strong and peaceful warriors in the world

In this workshop, we will commerce the series with core conditioning and stoke up the fires of inner vitality. We will learn how to freely circulate this energy as we explore different configurations of warrior poses. We will study how our subtle energy systems can be affected by these powerful asanas, and how we might put this to use as we pursue our passions and dreams in life. It takes flexibility, strength, courage and graciousness to be a warrior. Come and experience an awakening of your inner warrior in this workshop - and learn how to transfer its attributes into your daily life!

VINYASA INTENSIVE
Saturday, June 7 3-6pm, $30, $35 day of
Location: 8Limbs Wedgwood Studio

This intense set of vinyasa asanas will help you build stamina, confidence, and graciousness whilst releasing many knots in the body which block your development.
The class is strongly rooted in the vinyasa tradition of meditative, creative flow, with an emphasis on alignment, strength and integration of bandhas and pranayama. The series focuses on mobility, poise and rhythm with smooth and graceful connections between poses. Katerina will work with your inner energy body as much as with your physical body. We will move on to a multi-dimensional flow of poses, challenging your inner stability and cultivating your inner trust and flexibility. The internal fire (tapas) awakened at the beginning of class will carry you through all the vinyasa sequences and allow you to go deep.

Katerina has been a dedicated student of Yoga since 1991 with a specific inclination and fondness for the Krishnamacharya lineage. Coming from an extensive fine art and dance background, she sees vinyasa practice as a transformative artistry that is both creatively inspiring and spiritually embodying.

YOGA MALA RETREAT
Enliven your Ashtanga Flow
Primary & Intro to Second Series
Friday - Sunday, June 13, 14, 15
Location: Whidbey Island Yoga Lodge

This retreat is focused on deepening your ashtanga yoga, bringing both greater understanding and meditative flow into your practice.

You will refine your sequences, learning to move through them with ease and grace. One-on-one attention will be available for adjustment and modification. Our study will commence with sections of the primary series before moving into full spectrum primary series and intro to second series.

In addition, we will include teachings about the philosophy underlying asana practice, including a lecture on the yogi forefathers of Ashtanga. This will be an inspiration, infusing your practice with greater insights.

You will also discover how ancient chakra wisdom can enliven your flow. By learning to incorporate the strength of your inner body into your asana practice, you will take it to a deeper and more vibrant level.

$30, Add $5 at the door
Location: Seattle Holistic Center Wallingford (Good Shepherd Center) 4649 Sunnyside ave. N, Room 302, Seattle

The meditative flow sequences will challenge your strength and test your edge on many levels while you learn to move with balance, elegance and poise. These sequences begin with deep core conditioning and dynamic variations of Sun Salutation to wake up your inner fire. Then we move on to a multi-dimensional flow of standing poses, twists, arm and foot balancing, hip openings, forward and back arches. Katerina helps you to focus on how to release the knots in your body (physical and emotional), open your range of motion, create a sense of artistry in your own practice, and connect with your inner power as you honor the sacred space within you.

Suitable for intermediate and advanced students, and those willing and able to work intensively.

Strengthening the Core
Saturday, November 2nd, 3:30 - 6pm
$30, Add $5 at the door
Location: Seattle Holistic Center Wallingford (Good Shepherd Center) 4649 Sunnyside ave. N, Room 302, Seattle

Most of us are unaware of how our core (pelvis, abdomen and hips) influences spinal alignment - from head to feet - and the flow of our creative energy. A strong and flexible core is the foundation for the entire body. Many of us are contracted and feel separated from the upper and lower parts of our bodies. This can be caused by stress, lack of integrated use and emotional holding patterns. In this workshop Katerina guides you through poses to help free the hips, strengthen the abdomen and pelvic muscles thus releasing blocked energy helping you to feel more vital and alive. Other benefits of strengthening the core include improved digestion, elimination, relief from back pain and menstrual problems. Come with an empty stomach and a willingness to go deep.
